The University of Texas at Austin ended its spring semester with the usual assortment of student and faculty parties. One such party was the Kappa Alpha Fraternity’s “Old South Ball”. The event is a formal hosted by the said Kappa’s whereby they invite their parents and other guests to participate in a weekend long experience. This year’s event featured dance music by the Austin variety band – JUMPSTART. It was a perfect evening and all were dressed in their very best, including historical reproductions of military wear from a bygone period of history. JUMPSTART, the band, served up its usual mix of dance hits that ranged in styles from Chicago, to Motown, to funk, to salsa, and beyond. Parents, fraternity members and their guests all agreed that JUMPSTART’s performance lived up to all their expectations and then some. In true southern parlance, the phrase “ya’ll are the best band we’ve ever hired” could be heard resonating throughout the halls of the fraternity house. All the attendees had a great time due in a large part to the contribution of performance excellence and musical entertainment by JUMPSTART. JUMPSTART is quickly becoming the unofficial band of the University of Texas! Viva JUMPSTART!
