JUMPSTART MEETS CABEZA DE VACA

JUMPSTART, the high octane variety dance band from Austin, TX is set to play Galveston Island July 19.  For Texas history buffs, Galveston, TX is where the early Spanish explorer - Cabeza de Vaca – landed in Texas.  The Spanish in the early 16th Century were in search of gold, riches and the “fountain of youth” when they explored Texas.

Years have drifted by and explorers in today’s market have found the “fountain of variety music” in JUMPSTART.   Since 1988, JUMPSTART has been providing quality entertainment in Texas to audiences that range in musical and dance tastes from big band swing, to two-step country-western, to Motown, to groovin’ funk, to pop, to rock, to Tejano, and you name it . . . or better yet, discover it!  Cabeza de Vaca would have surely been made “king” had he discovered the universal language and good cheer JUMPSTART brings to each performance.

Catch JUMPSTART’s dynamic nine (9) piece ensemble in the world of variety dance music; wedding receptions, corporate parties; special events, holiday parties, etc.  Yes, it’s true musical quality featuring a human horn section; human rhythm players and vocalists that perform all their music without the use of “packaged” sounds and computerized sequences.

If you want the real thing, check out JUMPSTART.  “Cabeza de Vaca only missed JUMPSTART by six centuries. “   Don’t miss your opportunity to become “king” of your next event.

JUMPSTART / music / Texas -- It doesn’t get any better than that!

JUMPSTART – AN EXPLOSIVE ASSORTMENT OF MUSICAL DIVERSITY!

The founding fathers in 1776 would have applauded with exuberance the musical talent and variety of the Austin, Texas dance band, JUMPSTART at last weekend’s July 4th celebration for Summerfest 2008.  JUMPSTART is a melting pot of music with styles and genres that range from 1930’s speakeasy swing, to high octane Salsa, to smooth Jazz and all Rock, Motown, and Funk-groove point’s in-between.

Even “Mother Nature” cooperated July 4th weekend by dropping near 100 degree temperatures to mid-80 degree temperatures just before JUMPSTART took to the Summerfest 2008 stage in San Marcos, TX.  The band was more than a star burst on stage with one dance hit after another!  The first two songs alone (“Saturday In The Park” – Chicago and “Fire” – Ohio Players) got the 50,000 plus fans jumping and jiving in the San Marcos river corridor.  Patriots, young and old could be seen dancing to the multi-display and melodic extravaganza that JUMPSTART performed for one hour and twenty minutes on the banks of the San Marcos River.  The band’s finale leading to the city’s fireworks show was Chicago’s “Free”.  Corporate sponsors were ecstatic while brides and other event hosts lined up to secure future bookings with JUMPSTART.  (www.jumpstartmusic.com)

The horn section blew its cadences and crescendos with the finesse of a picture perfect firework bouquet undaunted by atmospheric obstructions.  JUMPSTART vocalists colored the festive environs with energetic harmonies that competed with Greek mythological singing Sirens who surely would have been jealous.  Notwithstanding, the rhythm section laid down grooves that pulsated like cannon blasts at times; shined like an expressive pyrotechnic accompaniment; and glided like a cruise ship on a calm sea whose destination focused on a completion of a seamless mission of continuous performance of  enjoyable musical entertainment.

The show was G R E A T!!!  Catch JUMPSTART if you can; they are “excellence in musical entertainment”.
