JUMPSTART, the Austin Texas variety (and spicey) dance band, played to the “heart of Texas” in July. From Austin, San Marcos, Galveston, to Houston and the Woodlands, JUMPSTART was entertaining with their rotation of songs and dance hits that range from a smooth waltz to hot, sizzling salsa. “What a variety and combo/mix of excellent dance hits!” was spoken by guests from the northeast to the west coast. Literally, from Maine to California - though all gigs were in Texas. The multi-cultural Texan community was blown over like a Texas tornado when the band performed for the Texas Association of Mexican American Chamber of Commerce. Tejano, Latino, two-step, country, and rock & funk carried the evening. Anyone for a “Cumbia?” How about a mombo? Yes, JUMPSTART delivers on all counts. Even “Bob FM” can’t compete with the variety JUMPSTART performs. FYI – the band has been performing since 1988! ! Did you say you want cool Jazz? No problem! You want 80s hits? No Problem! What about KC & the Sunshine Band? No Problem! What about Frank Sinatra? No Problem! What about Steeley Dan? No Problem! What about some hot salsa? No Problem! What about country & western? No Problem! In other words, JUMPSTART does it all! The band played to capacity crowds this July 2008. The Austin Hilton staff and catering department said that JUMPSTART was THE best band they have ever had at the hotel.
